Twice as Clean

A major UK grower with over 1200 acres of potatoes in South West England recently confirmed an order for a New Herbert System 2400 Contractor farm grader.

To solve his particular problem with heavy conditions a radical re-think of the main cleaning section was needed. This resulted in a new development of a pair of hydraulic cleaners configured end to end with independent cleaning adjustment. This will give the grower unparalleled cleaning control and flexibility to tackle conditions from the very lightest dry harvest to the excessively heavy conditions that can arise in areas when wet weather soaks to the heavy clay soil. Easy to use controls ensures that with minimum training an operator can vary the cleaning effect whilst “on the go” fine tuning for loose soil, top and clod removal capability and avoiding damage to the tuber skin.
