Chairman Rod Herbert speaks at World Potato Congress
Herbert’s founder and Chairman Rod Herbert was proud to be asked to deliver a speech to the 7th World Potato Congress, being held in Christchurch, New Zealand. Herbert’s attendance at the Congress is a further example of their commitment to develop their business into foreign markets, and is an excellent opportunity to present on developments in the potato industry to date, and where the industry is likely to go in the future.
Rod’s speech will be a summary of the potato industry, from harvesting and grading to packing and process, incorporating the way technology has developed and the reasons behind it, culminating a in summary of what challenges the industry faces next and how these will be met.
The World Potato Congress is the ideal place to showcase these thoughts and ideas, as it brings together a broad range of experience and nations in the potato industry, from both the developed and developing world.
The congress has previously been held in such diverse locations as Canada, South Africa and China, highlighting its mission statement to “support the global growth and development of the potato,” by providing useful and relevant information to all in the industry and trying to look after the interests and concerns of all involved.
