Trade Minister Presents Herberts with Cambridgeshire Export Award
Following the Royal show’s accolade for machinery in agriculture last year, Herberts were doubly pleased to be recognised for its efforts in export mainly for the freshpack market.
Lord Digby Jones, Minister for Trade and Investment presented Rod Herbert and Andy Hubble as winners of the Cambridgeshire Passport to Export Award from the UK Trade & Investment. Rod and Andy received the award at Ickworth House, Bury St Edmunds and Lord Digby was impressed by the diversity of businesses in the local area exporting to so many countries.
Lord Digby Jones said “All have taken on the demands of exporting and all have benefited from working with Passport to Export," he said. The winners were judged to be those who best applied the knowledge and skills they had learned during the Passport to Export programme in developing their business overseas.
The Passport programme has helped Herberts increase its Export turnover and assisted it in setting out clear parameters of how to work with local markets. It has enabled Herberts to appoint the best agents and distributors and enter new markets with confidence.
Company chairman, Rod Herbert said, “We are extremely proud to receive this award. It follows a great deal of hard work by our General Sales Manager, Andy Hubble, and his team who, with the support of UKTI's Passport to Export, has helped us to develop an export strategy. Recent projects in France and Spain, and an increasing agent network, are providing a solid platform to demonstrate our high quality machinery and project capability in foreign markets.”
