Big Tip for the Future
New for 2007, Herbert Engineering designed and launched their new twin big bag
tipper. According to Herbert’s it gives simple but effective discharge of produce from
big bags in total safety. They go on to state that the control philosophy features a
manual start sequence and the system is protected by a Category 4 light beam
safety system. This new big bag tipper with its twin-tipping platform can readily
achieve 30 bags per hour capacity. This is actioned by a two stage tipping process
coupled with hydraulic “clamps” for the bags thus ensuring controlled discharge of
product from the bag.
Andy Hubble, Herbert’s Sales Manager comments “Our customers have been
asking for some time for a quick, but gentle method of emptying ton bags and we can
now offer a quality machine which is both efficient and that ticks all of the
requirement boxes”.
A major international packer in Spain who has taken delivery of four units giving 120
tons per hour insisted on the new style twin big bag tippers to cope with the
throughputs whilst maintaining the steady gentle emptying of bags. Closer to home
an international processor is already using this latest technology within their plant
and have been extremely pleased with the performance commenting that its speed
and gentle discharge has revolutionised their handling of produce delivered in ton
bags.
